Hey Brash Kids!
It’s been a long week or two. Some of you knew it was my birthday on the 21st, along with going to Disney World for Star Wars Weekends, running in the Superhero Scramble’s 8-mile mud race, and getting ready for my NEW JOB! All that other stuff I’ll get to later, but I want to focus on the NEW JOB first.
Many of my friends, UF coworkers, and those who follow me on Facebook know that I’ve been applying for jobs here and there, curious to see what’s out there and who might be interested. I’ve alluded to the idea of a new job in recent posts, but I wanted to keep my cards secret for awhile; I had enough trouble posting while juggling classes and everything else, so I took a break this last week from posting to play catch-up with life, the universe, and everything entailed in such. At this point, it is my pleasure to announce that I am now the Social Media Marketing and Technical Services Manager for the Putnam County Library System!
“Wow Justin, that’s a long title! That sounds like alot of work!”
Right you are, impressed and/or intimidated voice in my head! I’ll be working with the social media aspects (Facebook, Twitter, etc), the marketing (partnerships, flyers, etc) and tech services (Kindle/computer classes, acquisitions, technology in general).
I started on Tuesday and I was planning on posting this earlier this week, but the high energy of a new environment has really been taking it out of me! Getting home around 5, sleeping til 9, going grocery shopping, running and back in bed for another thrilling day. My boss said I should relax, so I’ll decompress this weekend and tell you guys all about the other stuff soon.
Stay tuned for more next week! In the meantime, enjoy the comic that inspired the title. New job, new hero…
