Hey Friends!
YOWZA! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, my most humble apologies! Actually…scratch that. I’m not sorry. Not one bit. Why? Because it’s been worth my hiatus – The Brash Librarian has a totally sweet new library job and has been rocking classes! That’s right, I’m now working for the the University of Florida library system as a De-duplication Specialist in their archive facility. I’ve been trying to get my foot in the library system for some time now, and it’s finally happening!
Can I just say it’s the best job I’ve ever had? I absolutely LOVE my job. I’ve never been so happy to get up in my life for work. I have amazing coworkers, a totally rad boss, and the coldest workplace I could ask for! To help preserve the books, the temperature is kept between 50-70 degrees – anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m a polar bear that loves cold weather. I grew up in Colorado, what can I say? Food tastes better, air smells sweeter, life just keeps getting better and better!
“Hey Justin, how are classes going?”
Glad you asked, strange voice in my head! Classes are enriching but certainly keep me busy – anyone who has tried to hang out with me lately will tell you that I’ve been a huge party pooper with all the papers and projects I’ve had due. To all of you – Grant, Crissy, Carroll, Vikki, Dave, Heather, Larry, Taylor, Caitlin and anyone else I’m missing…
…On that note, I’m proud to give a shout-out to my new roommate Caitlin and her cat, Princess Leia! She’s super cool and makes the best chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted in my life. Aside from that, training for the Run For Your Lives zombie marathon has been lagging lately but picking up this week. Rest assured, I’ll be in prime zombie running shape by November.
GAH! I’ve got so much stuff I’ve been meaning to post. If I put up ten posts this week, I apologize. I’ve been trying to aim for one a week.
COMING UP!
More unusual librarians, Spider-Man, cartoons, other things my sidekick Katy has sent me…this is going to be quite a wild time.
Stay classy, kids!
