Brash Librarian Owns The Superhero Scramble! And other stuff, too.

Hey Friends! Happy labor day!

Whew! Summer classes are over, Fall classes have started, and I’m feeling pretty awesome. Among my reasons to feel awesome include my running in The Superhero Scramble in Waldo, Florida. It was…well…SUPER! I learned a few lessons from running the Swamp Dash in April, so this time I was ready. I made sure to wear shoes that weren’t old and ready to fall apart along with long sleeves to protect my forearms from cuts and bruises. Runners were encouraged to dress in costume, so who was I to refuse? There were Supermen, Batmen, Ninja Turtles, even one dude came as The Tick. I brought my own superhero costume – I came as my alter ego, The Brash Librarian! Bearing my Dewey call number 741.5, I rocked the race! I was stronger, faster and much more agile than last time.

The Brash Librarian at the finish line!

There were high walls, FIRE, mud pits, tunnels, carrying sand bags, FIRE,  jumping into a pool of muddy water, barbed wire, rope nets, FIRE, a slip-n-slide, vats of ice cold water – I didn’t know it was icy until I landed in it. Holy crap, that was cold. Did I mention there was FIRE? Jumping over it was pretty rad. I had the pleasure of making some new friends including Lana and Carroll, and was joined by several of my friends to cheer me on. A shout-out to my friends Heather, Grant, Dave, Jovon and my always-trusty sidekick, Katy! I’d also like to take a moment and congratulate Katy for getting a totally sweet librarian job in West Palm Beach! I salute you, madam!

Classes are going well, I’m really excited for my Management class with Dr. Koontz. I had the amazing pleasure to taking her Storytelling class over the summer and look forward to working with her again. Whee!

A NEW FRIEND!

I’d like to take a moment to plug for my friend’s new blog, The Bookaneer! She works in a library and has an obsession for pirate things. She’s also going to help get my lazy bum into writing more blog posts and play catch up. You guys deserve more content than I’m writing, so expect more good stuff soon!

Speaking of which! The Bookaneer and I have both been contemplating putting up video blogs for our posts (vlogging for all you cool kids out there) to help reach out to our people. Thoughts? Comments? Questions? Observations? Post them in the comment box below and tell us what you think!

Stay safe, stay awesome, I love you all!

I’m writing to make you be aware of what a magnificent encounter our daughter encountered going through your webblog. She learned so many things, with the inclusion of what it’s like to have an incredible teaching style to let other people very easily grasp some complicated matters. You really exceeded my expected results. Many thanks for giving such warm and friendly, healthy, educational and in addition cool guidance on your topic to Gloria.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright
violation? My blog has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either
created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot
of it is popping it up all over the internet without
my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help prevent
content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.

  5. I’m really impressed along with your writing talents and also
with the format in your weblog. Is that this a paid subject or did you modify
it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it is uncommon to
see a nice blog like this one today..

  6. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal.
I must say that you’ve done a great job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet explorer.

    Excellent Blog!
